(UPDATED with latest information): Marvel Studios star Jeremy Renner has been taken to hospital after sustaining leg-related injuries while plowing snow.

As reported by Deadline, longtime Marvel actor Jeremy Renner is in “critical but stable” condition because of a weather-related accident the Hawkeye star experienced clearing snow.

It has been confirmed his family is with him and he is “receiving excellent care.”

The statement from Renner’s representation reads as follows:

“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today… His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

EW reported that the incident happened around 9 am Sunday, as Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a “traumatic injury” on a highway near Reno, Nevada. Renner was the only person involved in the incident, and the sheriff’s office is investigating the details of the event.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Renner can be seen being airlifted at about 9:50 am. Eyewitnesses told the site that the Marvel actor was plowing the road with a plowing machine known as a Snowcat when the vehicle flipped and accidentally ran over one of Renner’s legs.

The actor was losing significant amounts of blood; however, luckily a neighbor, who is a doctor, was able to begin to treat Renner on the scene until paramedics arrived.

The area where the accident occurred is being treated as an active crime scene. Renner has posted videos online of him using the Snowcat before, and the machine has extensive safety features that should not have let it to have rolled over Renner.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported on the incident as well, as Renner has a home in the area near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe (south of Reno). This comes after the area of Northern Nevada was blanketed in snow over the New Year’s weekend, resulting in over 35,000 losing power.
