One Piece Chapter 1075 Recap & Spoilers: Labophase Death Game

Chapter 1075 of One Piece brings an interesting and deadly twist to the missing case of Vegapunk’s real body, and there are already casualties.

Chapter 1074 of One Piece reveals the top-of-the-line version of the Pacifista — the MK. III. These cyborgs set out to deal with the remaining agents of Cipher Pol 0, while those inside the Frontier Dome think of a way to get out. Not only are Luffy and the gang currently imprisoned within the confines of the Frontier Dome, but Vegapunk Stella is also still missing. Luffy and the others have also run around the entire Labophase in search of the genius inventor, resulting in Luffy exhausting his strength. Despite their combined efforts, they fail to find the doctor. Another missing person is the female pirate Jewelry Bonney, though Shaka is quick to identify her location through the monitors.

While everyone is scrambling about in search for Vegapunk Stella, Jewelry Bonney is inside the P.A.W Laboratory. There, she immerses herself inside the giant paw bubble, allowing her to view her father’s memories. Unfortunately, the said memories are far from pleasant. She sees Kuma in his childhood years being abused by who seemed to be Celestial Dragons and the people under them. Seeing her father suffer, Bonney is forcefully removed from the bubble, but she persists in the hopes of finding the truth. Another interesting development in Chapter 1073 happens in Morgans’ turf. He fabricates a story about Luffy holding Vegapunk hostage and waging war with the Navy, earning Vivi’s irk.

The explosion in Chapter 1074 has a grim result. Pythagoras, one of Vegapunk’s six Satellites, is now unreachable. To get a better understanding of the events, Shaka reviews the footage recorded by one of the camsnails, and he discovers a particular figure. Unfortunately, the recording is cut short by the explosion. Luffy also notices the dilemma as he can no longer hear the others’ voices from his communication device. Meanwhile, the chapter shifts to Building A where Nami, Brook and Edison are.

Nami, being herself, is distracted by a few pieces of jewels. Since they are already evacuating the island, Nami figures that there is no harm in taking the jewels along on their journey. Edison reluctantly agrees after hearing the navigator’s logic. But when Nami proposes to head back after packing the jewels, Edison reminds her that they are searching for the Stella. Edison also tells Nami that what she packed are synthetic diamonds made for industrial purposes.

In another building, Atlas is being accompanied by Robin and Chopper. Atlas is telling the reindeer how her head is just a mask, further elaborating that she can change her looks and body based on her preferences. Noticing the weird-looking items within the vats, Robin asks Atlas whether those are Vegapunk. Atlas educates them about organoids or lab-grown organs. Logically, Atlas believes that these organoids are indispensable building blocks to further the future of medicine.

Back in the command room, Luffy confronts Shaka about the anomaly, swearing that he hasn’t broken his earpiece. Shaka assures the pirate that he hasn’t done anything wrong. Shaka then shows Luffy the feeds, which are going out one by one. That only means that there is somebody else with them inside the laboratory. On the second floor of Building B, Sanji and Jimbei are accompanied by Stussy. Sanji is pestering Stussy, while the latter is casually reminding the Straw Hat cook of their objective. She also reminds both Straw Hats to not cause any big vibrations as they are in the weapons development room.

Meanwhile, Franky, Usopp, York and Lilith team up to search the third floor of Building C. Lilith is explaining to Usopp how a bubble gun works. Apparently, this weapon shoots out bubbles that can deflect anything. At that moment, York notices the big explosion. Usopp then realizes that somebody is lying on the floor. Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be Pythagoras. The group immediately scrambles toward the fallen Satellite and discovers that Pythagoras is missing their head, which appears shortly after. Pythagoras is stumbling with words trying to explain what has happened.

As Pythagoras fails to explain the cause of the explosion, York pats one of the Seraphim. Pythagoras warns her to stay away from the Seraphim, but it’s too late. The Seraphim designed after Hancock has already petrified the Satellite, puzzling Lilith and the others. Without as much as a reply, the Seraphim continues to attack the group with a laser beam. No matter what the Satellites tell the Seraphim, the living weapon simply won’t stand down. To make matters worse, their communications are now down, forcing them to face the Seraphim or die trying.

A similar situation is also happening within the command room. Zoro asks Luffy for help. When the Emperor arrives, he sees his number two already facing two Seraphims — S-Hawk and S-Bear. Similar to the situation of Lilith’s group, the Seraphims are also not obeying Shaka’s orders. Interestingly, the living weapons are not just attacking the Straw Hat Pirates, but the unconscious CP0 agents as well. Given that the downed government agents can’t fend for themselves, Zoro is forced to defend them. The swordsman says that it will leave a bad taste in his mouth otherwise.

Running amok, S-Hawk and S-Bear also launch a beam attack toward Luffy’s group. Shaka then analyzes the situation. Given that the Seraphims are not obeying his orders, he deduces that Vegapunk is the one that is giving them the orders. He also takes the downed radio and the hacked Frontier Dome into consideration, and he concludes that someone is out to eliminate all of them. Hearing that, Lucci and Kaku finally regain consciousness. They then propose to Luffy and Zoro to put their differences aside. However, the sheer absurdity of the idea forces the two Straw Hats to pull out One Piece‘s iconic meme face.
