It is one of the most highly-anticipated films of the year.

And the final trailer for Dune did not disappoint as it featured plenty of action, showcased a few more details from the story, and even shed a little more light on the romance between Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet’s characters.

The two-and-a-half minute clip  showcases the early stages of the war which will be the focus of the film directed by Denis Villeneuve based on the 1965 novel of the same name.

Their romance blossoms during a frightening war on her desert planet Arrakis which is mined for precious resources.

Paul is a young man of royal birth whose visions of a coming conflict over the planet Arrakis thrusts him into the middle of a war to ensure the future of his family and people.

Things definitely are going to tense in the film as Paul begins to realize the danger his father Duke Leto (played by Oscar Isaac) and the rest of their family are in in their attempt to rule Arrakis.

As he has this awakening, he says to Duncan: ‘This is an extermination. They’re picking my family off one by one. Only together can we stand a chance.’

Duncan replies ‘let’s fight light demons’ before  taking on multiple foes.

Toward the end of the trailer there are several very intense action scenes shown as the battle intensifies but in the middle came a quick flash of Paul and Chani kissing.

Paul could be heard in the background of the clips declaring: ‘I must not fear. Fear is the mind killer. Where the fear has gone… only I will remain.’

As he has this awakening, he says to Duncan: ‘This is an extermination. They’re picking my family off one by one. Only together can we stand a chance’

The clip finally ends with Chani saying: ‘This is only the beginning.’

Javier Bardem’s Stilgar, Stellan Skarsgard’s The Baron, Sharon Duncan-Brewster’s Liet Kynes, Dave Bautista’s Beast Rabban, David Dastmalchian’s Piter De Vries, Charlotte Rampling’s Reverend Mother Mohiam, Chang Chen’s Dr. Yueh and Stephen McKinley Henderson’s Thufir Hawat are also in the movie.

The story is set in a far-distant future in the midst of several civilizations spread across the galaxy, centering on one family in particular, the Atreides family.

The family, lead by Duke Leto Atreides, becomes the new stewards for the dangerous desert planet Arrakis.

While the desert planet is sparsely populated and filled with deadly creatures, it is also quite important.

Arrakis is the only source of ‘melange,’ which extends ones life and greatly enhances mental capacities, and is a necessity for space travel and navigation.

The clip finally ends with Chani saying: ‘This is only the beginning’

Frank Herbert’s book has been a hot property in Hollywood for decades.

There was a previous adaptation of the novel in 1970 by filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, though it never got off the ground.

The filmmaker’s attempt to bring this ambitious novel to live was chronicled in the 2013 documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune.

Dune has already been released in several cities throughout the world but will hit theaters in the US and stream on HBO Max beginning Friday, October 22.
