One Piece Finally Shows The Island Fans Have Been Waiting For

After a lot of teasing, One Piece finally brings its readers to Elbaf, revealing Shanks’ connection with the legendary country of the Giants.

One Piece has finally brought its readers to an island they had been looking forward to visiting for the majority of the series: Elbaf, the land of the Giants. After being teased for so long, Elbaf is finally shown in all its glory and it immediately becomes a battlefield for the unexpected clash between Red-Haired Shanks and Eustass Kid.

In chapter #1076 of One Piece, Shanks makes his unexpected return to the manga, after briefly appearing at the end of the Wano Arc. Shanks is drinking in a bar, where a kid is sulking because the legendary pirate won’t let him join his crew, in a scene that mirrors the very first pages of One Piece, with Luffy pestering Shanks for the same reason. However, the perspective soon shifts to show that everything around Shanks and his officers is huge, revealing that they are surrounded by Giants. When Shanks learn that Eustass Kid has also reached Elbaf and is trying to start a fight with his crew, he asks his friends Dorry and Brogy to help him with that, revealing that the two Giants that the Straw Hats met in Little Garden have also finally come back home.

Elbaf Is Quickly Becoming The Most Important Location In One Piece

Previously, the only time Elbaf had been shown was in Big Mom’s flashback, as the future Yonko grew up in an orphanage on the island. However, readers did not get to see much of the fabled country on that occasion. In the present time of the series, Elbaf has recently been teased as the next destination for the Straw Hats. Dr. Vegapunk revealed that the library of Ohara, which contains the answers to many mysteries of the One Piece world, has been saved from the destruction of that country by a crew of Giants, who brought it to Elbaf. The importance of Elbaf is also confirmed by the arrival of Eustass Kid, who is after an enigmatic “man marked by flames” who knows the location of the last Road Poneglyph.

Chapter #1076 also confirms something that fans had already guessed: a strong connection between Shanks and Elbaf. It’s possible that the island is part of the Yonko’s territory and thus falls under his protection. Also, the chapter marks the return of two characters that One Piece fans have not seen for a very long time: Dorry and Brogy. The two Giants were fighting an endless feud in Little Garden, where the Straw Hats met them, but clearly they have decided to finally return home. They also seem to have a deep bond with Shanks, who calls them “old friends” while they refer to him as “brother”.

The Elbaf Arc Will Be One Of The Best In The Series

It’s possible that One Piece is setting Elbaf up as the key to a lot of its mysteries and stage where many characters and parallel storylines will converge. Ever since Usopp mentioned Elbaf as his desired destination, fans of One Piece have been looking forward to visiting this fabled country of proud and brave warriors. After the brief but exciting introduction in this chapter, it’s easy to expect that the Straw Hats’ adventure in Elbaf will be one of the most epic and important that One Piece readers have ever seen.
