One Piece: S-Snake’s Love-Love Powers May Be Greater Than Hancock’s

Boa Hancock’s Seraph copy S-Snake may have found a way to make her artificial Love-Love Fruit powers just as good as the original’s, if not better.

Boa Hancock is considered to be the greatest user of the Love-Love Fruit in the One Piece world. This is because her unparalleled beauty makes it the easiest for her to put people under the Fruit’s spell. However, even she has limits on how effective her powers will be.

However, a new user of the Love-Love Fruit’s powers may have a way to make it slightly more effective. S-Snake, the Seraph designed to resemble Hancock, seems to be able to petrify just as many people as the original. However, the Pacifista may be using her powers in a way that targets a broader range of opponents.

How Do Hancock and S-Snake Use the Love-Love Fruit?

Hancock’s powers work by targeting a person’s “impure thoughts,” namely lust. Once she’s won someone’s heart over with her charm or beauty, she can use her powers to turn them to stone. Again, since she’s considered the most beautiful woman in the world, she can naturally invoke a lot of impure thoughts in her targets.

Despite this realization of the Fruit’s full potential, some still manage to resist its effects. One common example is Monkey D. Luffy, whose heart is too pure to think lewdly about Hancock. However, Luffy’s case seems to be a rare exception.

Others who have resisted her powers include Smoker, Crocodile, Dracule Mihawk, and Blackbeard. Their resistance could be caused by anything from a focus on more important things to a subjective opinion on beauty; the narrative doesn’t specify this. It’s likely the former reason, but the latter reason could have something to do with it, too.

S-Snake seems to have a similar ability to turn people to stone. She was shown in Chapter 1070, “The Strongest Form of Humanity,” using her powers to petrify several CP0 agents. However, since she’s still just a child physically, she might be using some alternate method of charming people.

The Seraph may instead be earning people’s hearts with cuteness rather than sexiness. At least, that’s how readers are hoping her powers work. It would be the difference between eros (erotic love) and storge (parental love for children). This would also mean that S-Snake wouldn’t have to rely specifically on “impure thoughts” for her powers to work. Even those who don’t think about love like Luffy or Blackbeard can admit when someone or something is cute.

There’s also something to be said about S-Snake being a child. This practically makes her a cuter version of Hancock by default. Even if she’s a killing machine bigger than the average person, the fact that she’s a child will make people think of her as something to care for and protect.

While everyone has their preferences for the ideal woman, the qualities of “cuteness” are much easier to agree upon. In the case of Hancock and S-Snake’s Love-Love powers, one is a little more instinctively invoked than the other. Put the two of them on the same side and they could probably petrify everyone else in a room with them.
